Our first rooftop garden is ready to grow on its own and we want to celebrate this moment with you. This opening gives us the chance to share our vision, experiences and ideas for the future project in Gaza Camp (Jerash Camp) – at the same time we are looking forward to exchange ideas by having a discussion. We want you to discover the garden with all your senses: climb up on the roof, have a taste of our own-planted organic food and feel the calm atmosphere of this green corner in the heart of Amman. Live acoustic music will play its part to mingle and connect everyone.

Let’s go back together to our roots and join us in greening rooftops.

WHO ARE WE?

We are a group of motivated volunteers that plan to use the excess space on the roofs of Palestinian refugee camps for growing fruits, herbs and vegetables. Our vision is to reconnect displaced communities with their own food production and create opportunities for individual empowerment and social-economic development. In Amman we have built our first experimental rooftop garden. Here, the future installations for camp areas come to life, mirror our concept of design, building process and refuge in urban areas.

دعونا نحتفل معاً بمناسبة جاهزية حديقتنا الأولى، هذا الإفتتاح سيعطينا الفرصة مشاركتكم رؤانا المستقبلية خبرتنا أفكارنا ومشروعنا في مخيم غزة في جرش ، دعونا نتناقش حول أفكار جديدة خلال هذا الافتتاح . حضوركم يعطيكم الفرصة لتكتشفوا الحديقة بجميع حواسكم فستبدأون بالتسلق للسطح ثم رؤية الحديقة وتذوق منتجاتها مستمتعين بجو الحديقة الهادئ في هذه الزاوية الخضراء في قلب عمان .

دعونا نرجع لجذورنا ونشارك في السطوح الخضراء، إلى ذلك الحين فكرو باللون الأخضر!

من نحن ؟

نحن مجموعة من المتطوعين الشغوفين الذين يعملون بهدف استعمال المساحة المهملة على أسطح منازل المخيمات الفلسطينية لتستغل في زراعة الأعشاب والخضار والفواكه، تكمن رؤيتنا في تفعيل ارتباط المخيمات الفلسطينية بمبدأ زراعة طعامهم بأنفسهم لخلق فرصة جديدة تؤدي إلى تحسين وضعهم الاجتماعي والاقتصادي، لقد أنهينا بناء أول حديقة سطوح تجريبية في عمان لتعكس شكل عملنا المستقبلي في المناطق المحتاجة .
