في هذا العرض الحيوي المليء بالمفاجآت تحكي علياء مجموعة من الحكايات التراثية العربية المحملة بالأحداث والشؤون المعاصرة لتلهم المستمعين بأخبار بطلات من الماضي والحاضر وهن تثبّتن مكانهن في عالم الرجال. ففي حكاية يمنية قديمة نسمع قصة شابة تسافر بحثا عن صوتها المفقود، وفي قصة من الف ليلة وليلة نعود إلى الحياة في سوريا التي مزقتها الحرب. أما ذات الحجاب الأحمر فتواجه الذئب الشرير بينما تكتشف صابرة بأنها لم تعد تصبر على زوجها الذي لا يكف عن التذمر. علياء الزغبي أكاديمية ومربية وحكواتية رشحت لجائزة البافتا وأسعدت الجماهير من كل الأعمار بحكايات عن الحكمة والمكر في كافة أنحاء العالم، من كوسوفو إلى بلجيكا، وقطر والإمارات العربية المتحدة، وبالطبع المملكة المتحدة. تمتلك علياء خبرة واسعة في استخدام الحكي في المدارس والمراكز المجتمعية، وقد طورت ورشات مدرسية وموارد تستخدم الحكي من أجل تحسين القرائية من خلال الشفاهية.

In this highly-energetic performance with unexpected twists, Alia brings a medley of traditional tales from the Arab world and superimposes them onto recent events and contemporary world affairs. Prepare to be inspired by past and present heroines as
they negotiate and find their way in a man-made world. An ancient Yemeni tale sees a young woman traveling in search of her lost voice, and a traditional Arabian Nights tale sparks back to life as it is re-set in war-torn Syria. Little Red Riding Hijab confronts the Big Bad Wolf and Sabira finds out that she is running out of patience with her grumpy husband.

Alia is a BAFTA-nominated, dynamic storyteller and educator. She has delighted audiences of all ages with tales of wisdom and wiles from around the world. She has appeared on stages from Kosovo to Belgium to Qatar and the United Arab Emirates and, of course, the UK. Alia has extensive experience using storytelling in schools and the community. She has developed CPDs, schools workshops and resources using storytelling around improving literacy through oracy.
