This event is organized in the Framework of the UNESCO Project “Empowering Rural Women and Increasing Resilience in the Jordan Valley”, funded by the Drosos Foundation.
“Colors Of Jordan. The Indigo Edition” will contribute to promoting the handicrafts brand of The Ghor el Safi Women’s Association for Social Development, Safi Crafts. Safi Crafts produces handmade products dyed by local women from Ghor el Safi using natural resources such as pomegranate, iron, eucalyptus, madder or tea. One of their most precious and unique dyes is Indigo, a crop that was cultivated in Ancient Times in Jordan which gives a dark natural blue color. The UNESCO Project has re-introduced its cultivation in Jordan and revived the traditional know-how of dyeing with Indigo. The event will include Kids activities, workshops on natural dyes and lectures.
