Let us take you on a unique journey, meet the people of Petra, taste the delicious cuisine, hike along the traditional irrigation canals and partake in the annual olive harvest!
Thursday:
Arrive in Petra in time for dinner. After checking into your accomodation, enjoy a delicous home cooked meal with a local family. Eating in Petra with a local family will allow you to taste the love and pride that Jordanian food is cooked with, not only filling your stomachs but also your hearts. Get to know your hosts and feel at home.
Friday:
Your local host will meet you at your accomodation early morning and take you to the start of this mornings hike. Your local host will guide you through one of Wadi Musa’s valleys, following the direction of the the traditional irrigation canals which begin at Musa Spring. Learn the importance and history of a part of life which has not changed for centuries. The hike will lead you to a local olive grove where you will enjoy a freshly brewed cup of tea before begining the day with a local family assisting with their olive harvest.
Depending on the location of your harvest you may get the chance to see, make and eat delicious taboon bread – a traditional bread baked outdoors in a clay oven or spend some time with a shepherd and their sheep.
Enjoy dinner with a local family.
Transfer to your accomodation for overnight.
Saturday:
Today is yours to choose – you can head back to the olive grove, hike in Petra, take a morning horse ride or relax in your hotel before departing for home.
