عن الرقصات:
“سيتنيا” من التراث الصربي، تُرقص في خط، تبدأ بطيئة وتسرع تدريجياً ويقال أنها كانت ترقص في الساحات العامة للمدن لتسلية المارّة.
“فيرجينيا ستايل” هي رقصة جماعية شعبية تعود للقرن السابع عشر ولها اصول اسكوتلندية وأيرلندية. هذه الرقصة مشهورة في امريكا.

عن المدربين:
ريما هي مدربة رقص جماعي وعضو في جمعية الرقص والغناء التقليدي العالمية ومبادرة درزة. بعد تعلمها لهذا النوع من الرقص في الخارج قامت بالبدء بتعليمه في الاردن وأسست مجموعة الرقص التقليدي في الاردن.
الى جانب الرقص الاوروبي والعالمي التقليدي، ريما تعلم الدبكة، الرقصة التقليدية في بلاد الشام، وترقص البولرووم.

لوقا شاب ايطالي يعمل في مجال المساعدات الإنسانية ويعيش بالاردن منذ اكثر من سنتين. لديه شغف للرقص التقليدي الاوروبي منذ سنوات عديدة، ولديه خبرة في تدريس الرقص التقليدي الاوروبي لغير الاوروبيين. لوقا متخصص في الرقص الجنوب اوروبي ولكن يرقص رقصات من أيرلندا، البلقان وموسيقى الكلزمر أيضاً.

As a part of the global dance workshops series at Jadal with its amazing friends Rima and Luca, we are happy to invite you to this week workshop about Serbian and Virginia Reel dances.
Through the workshop, we will get to know more about the two cultures and learn a new folk dance! Join us, it is going to be fun!

Schedule: It’s every Tuesday 6:30 – 8:30 PM starting the 4th of October for 6 weeks.

The 4th week workshop, Tuesday, the 1st of November from 6:30 – 8:30 PM.

Fees: 10 JD/workshop. 3 JD discount on the following ones.

Both seniors and children are welcome: the dances are simple and everyone can join. No dancing experience is required as the workshops are for beginners. A group of awesome experienced dancers will be helping you.

All the dances are in folks type. No partner required. Just bring comfortable shoes and your curious spirit.

About the dances:
“Setnja” is a Serbian line dance that used to be perceived as entertainment for bypassers when danced in public squares.
The “Virginia Reel” is a folk dance that dates from the 17th century. Though the reel may have its origins in Scottish country dance and the Highland reel, and perhaps have an even earlier influence from Irish dance. The dance is most popular in America.

About the instructors:

Rima is a folk dance teacher and a member of the global Country Dance and Song Society and Darzeh initiative. She has also established the Country Dance Jordan group. Along with European and some global folk dancing, she teaches Dabkeh, the folk dance of the Levant, and dances ballroom.

Luca is an Italian humanitarian worker, who has been living in Jordan for more than two years. He fell in love with European Folk dances many years ago and he has experience in teaching them to non-Europeans. He is mainly specialized in Southern European dances but can dance also Irish, Balkans and Klezmer music.
