About the Workshop

In this workshop, participants will be experimenting with swatches and applying different treatments/manipulations that can change the surface of the fabric and create new textures. Participants are encouraged to translate their personal design concept into texture, using the techniques shown.

About Caterina Filice

Caterina Filice is an Italian designer who has worked in set costume and textile design. As a fashion designer, she has created collections for both men and women for Italian and international high-end and casual brands. Now Caterina is focused on projects that combine fashion and sustainability. Recently, she worked as a consultant for the United Nations Organization for Industrial Development (UNIDO) on the project “Creative Mediterranean: Creativity through Resilience” based in Jordan. Under her direction and in collaboration with local fashion designers and manufacturing companies, the first womenswear brand completely designed and made in Jordan for international markets was launched. JO! By Creative Jordan will be sold for spring/summer 2018.

إن أحدث الأبحاث في الموضة هي حول النسيج. يشكل ابتكار هياكل وملامس وأسطح جديدة تحدياً جديداً ومصدراً كبيراً للمصممين. سيقوم المشاركون في هذه الورشة بالتجريب على القِطع وتطبيق معالجات جديدة يمكنها أن تغير سطح النسيج وتخلق قوامات جديدة. يشجع المشاركين على ترجمة مفهومهم الشخصي للتصميم إلى ملامس باستخدام التقنيات المبينة.

عن كاتيرينا فيلس

كاترينا فيلس مصممة إيطالية عملت في تصميم الملابس والمنسوجات. خلال عملها كمصممة أزياء، ابتكرت كاتيرينا مجموعات رجالية ونسائية لعلامات تجارية إيطالية وعالمية راقية. يتركز اهتمامها الآن على المشاريع التي تجمع الأزياء والاستدامة. عملت كاتيرينا كمستشار “لمنظمة الأمم المتحدة” للتنمية الصناعية (اليونيدو) على مشروع “البحر الأبيض المتوسط الإبداعي: الإبداع عبر المرونة” الذي أقيم في الأردن. أطلقت كاتيرينا أيضاً أول علامة تجارية لملابس النساء تصنع وتصمم في الأردن للأسواق العالمية تحت إشرافها بالتعاون مع مصممي أزياء محليين وشركات تصنيع. ستباع JO! لكرييتف جوردان في موسم ربيع / صيف 2018.
