This gripping Italian crime drama, based on real events, is a tale of violence passed down from generation to generation in rural Calabria. The Carbone family consists of three brothers – Luigi and Rocco are in the mafia, while Luciano works as a humble farmer. His 20-year-old son, Leo, has little respect for his father, but idealises his Mafioso uncles. When Leo engages in an act of violence, his reckless actions create trouble for the whole family.
The film has won more than 20 international awards: nine major prizes at David di Donatello Awards (2015), Best Director at Venice Film Festival (2014) and the Silver Ribbon for Best Producer, Best Screenplay and Best Editor at the Italian National Syndicate of Film Journalists (2015)
