We would like to call your attention to an innovative scientific format for aspiring researchers – the Falling Walls Lab. The Lab is a platform for excellent academics, entrepreneurs and professionals from all disciplines who get the opportunity to present their research work, business model, innovative project or idea with peers and a distinguished jury from academia and business. Each participant has 3-minute time on stage.

Falling Walls Labs take place globally throughout the year. The winner of each international Falling Walls Lab qualifies for the Falling Walls Lab Finale in Berlin, which is held every year on 8 November and is closely connected to the annual and internationally renowned Falling Walls Conference, taking place on 9 November. At the Conference 20 world-class scientists from across the globe present their current breakthrough research answering the question: “Which are the next walls to fall?”

The Falling Walls Lab Amman is hosted by Engineers International Community – EIC, Fingerprint – البصمة, and Alquds College, Luminus Education as Academic Partners, and takes place on 10 October 2017, participants will be informed over exact location and starting time.

Applications can be made through the website www.falling-walls.com/lab/apply. The Application Deadline closes by 15 September 2017.

The most intriguing presenter qualifies directly for the Falling Walls Lab Finale in Berlin. The Falling Walls Foundation covers the accommodation for the 8-9 November in Berlin. Also, all participants of the Finale receive a ticket for the Falling Walls Conference.

Who can apply for the Falling Walls Lab Amman?

The Falling Walls Lab Amman addresses a broad range of people from all professional backgrounds and disciplines.

We are looking for:

Scholars, researchers and scientists (BA-students, MA-students, PhD-/ doctoral candidates and post-docs)

Entrepreneurs, engineers and young professionals (Start-ups, inventions, initiatives and business ideas)

Innovators from all areas – science, the humanities, arts, business and technology

The selection criteria are as follow:

If a person has a Bachelor’s degree, the degree should not date back more than 10 years.
If a person has a Master’s degree, the degree should not date back more than 7 years.
If a person has a PhD, the degree should not date back more than 5 years.

**Postdocs and students currently enrolled in university are also eligible to apply.

The applicant has to be of legal age (18 years or older) in order to participate in the Falling Walls Lab Amman.
