Vincent Machot connaît une vie somme toute assez banale, partagée entre son salon de coiffure, son cousin, séducteur invétéré, son chat, et sa mère bien trop envahissante. D’un naturel très réservé, sa vie sentimentale se limite à des rendez-vous ratés avec son amie partie à Paris depuis des mois et qui ne cherche qu’à l’éviter. Il rencontre par hasard Rosalie Blum, gérante d’un petit commerce, femme mystérieuse et solitaire, qu’il est absolument convaincu d’avoir déjà rencontrée.

Thirty-something Vincent Machot is a hairdresser, like his father before him. Life rotates around work, his overbearing mother who lives in the apartment upstairs, and a womanizing cousin constantly trying to set him up.
