iBar will be holding a fundraising night to raise as much money as is possible for this great cause. SSAFA has been serving the Armed Forces community for 130 years, and this year we want to extend a helping hand all the way from Amman!

The event will start at 19:30 and guests will be charged JOD 5 entry. There will also be a raffle with exciting prizes to be won.

Background on the team:

Fat & Furious started in 2014 as a group of friends trying to complete a challenge that borders on ridiculous. Back then, the aim was to complete the 242km course in the 24 hours allotted. To everyone’s amazement Fat & Furious finished in 20.17 hours…for some of them champs, the fuse was lit!

Fat & Furious returned the following year and ran an amazing time of 16.47hours. In 2016 they managed to get sponsorship from the ibis hotel, which made them look professional in appearance and set up, (but they were still running with their beer bellies and anticipating the beer they always have waiting for them at the finish line). This helped them finish 5th in the overall standings with a time of 14.44 hours! A time that would have placed Fat & Furious 1st in 2015!!!!

Because of their determination, fun personalities, unique characters, as well as the amazing success the Dead 2 Red has witnessed Fat & Furious achieve, they have become a bit (actually larget than life!) of a household name at this annual event; so much so that this year the Fat & Furious runners are coming from the UK, Australia and the United States as well as those based here in Amman.

The Fat & Furious team contitutes rugby players, students, hoteliers, diplomats, military personnel, NGO’s, Jordanians and much more (this statemet is soooo much directed towards the compition- WATCHOUT!).

Will they be able to achieve their target time of 13.29 hours? Or will they try to beat their time set in 2016 (14.44)?!
