About the Movie:
Following the sanctions imposed against Iran by the U.S. and Europe, many Iranian families are facing economic problems. “MAAT” follows a group of families from different towns, who decide to immigrate to the capital trying to overcome their difficult financial circumstances. They spend all their savings to buy a house in that utopia. As they enter the house one family after the other, it turns out that the apartment has been sold to more than one buyer.
While they try to find a way out of this problem, they discover a big amount of money in addition to guns inside the house. Face to face with an ethical dilemma, they have to decide on either taking the money, telling the truth to the police or solving the issue among themselves. The movie was entirely filmed in one shot. It has won the Special Jury Award “Abbas Kiarostami Prize” at the 40th São Paulo International Film Festival
بعد فرض الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية وأوروبا عقوبات على إيران، أصبحت العديد من الأسر الإيرانية تواجه مشاكل إقتصادية. يتتبع الفيلم مجموعة من العائلات من مدن مختلفة تقرر الهجرة إلى العاصمة في محاولة للتغلب على ظروفها المادية الصعبة. تنفق كل واحدة مدخراتها لشراء منزل في تلك المدينة. لدى دخول البيت عائلة تلو الأخرى، يتبيّن أن الشقة قد بيعت لأكثر من مشترٍ. بينما يحاول أفراد الأسر المعنية إيجاد حل لتلك المشكلة، يكتشفون وجود مبلغ كبير من المال إضافة إلى الأسلحة داخل المنزل. في مواجهة مع معضلة أخلاقية، عليهم أن يختاروا الآن: إما أن يأخذوا المال أو أن يبلغوا الشرطة بالحقيقة أو يحلوا القضية فيما بينهم. تم تصوير الفيلم كليّاً في لقطة واحدة. فاز الفيلم بجائزة لجنة التحكيم الخاصة “جائزة عباس كياروستامي” في مهرجان ساو باولو السينمائي الدولي الـ40
