PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED
This is to announce a short series discussion seminars on the rural Middle East and North Africa. The sessions are organized around three key concepts: capital, labour, and how institutions shape rural dynamics. A fourth concluding session will synthesize our discussions through informal presentations of on-going participant projects related to rural MENA.
To participate, please submit an expression of interest outlining your motivation for joining the seminar to allison.hartnett@politics.ox.ac.uk. Participation is open, but registration necessary and the seminar discussions are closed. Preference will be give to those who can commit to all sessions and have an active interest in the topic.
The seminars draw on weekly readings, multimedia and on participant knowledge to discuss rural spaces in the Middle East. Participants with all types of practical, professional and academic experience are encouraged to participate. Please circulate to anyone with a particular interest in this field. Access to readings will be provided in advance of the first session.

Location: CBRL, 102 Uhod St., Tla al ‘Ali, Amman
Contribution: one time payment of 10 JD for refreshments
Deadline for expressions of interest: 16 October, 5pm.
