In partnershipn with Goethe Institut and Cervantes, the Amman Jazz Festival present Sjaella an acapella from Germany and Sinouj from Spain with support from the European Union and EUNIC Jordan

Derived from the Swedish “Sjael” which means “soul”, the coinage Sjaella is the name of an all girl a cappella ensemble from Leipzig.
Sjaella has received a number of accolades, most recently the Tampereen Sävel Contest for Vocal Ensembles in Tampere (FI), has been signed on by a record label, successfully completed workshops with the biggest names in a cappella, made multiple radio and television appearances and brought down the house with concerts at internationally renowned music festivals.
Their debut CD “Sjaella”, released in 2011, was highly acclaimed by many music magazines (“Das Orchester”, “Rondo”, “Sono”) and the Bavarian broadcasting network, Bayerischer Rundfunk.
Without a doubt, Sjaella’s defining characteristic, which sets them apart, is the fact that they began so early on, and in this way, grew with and towards each other. This has led to a degree of harmony and trust between all the singers that is clearly felt at their concerts. They breathe and sing as a single vocal being.
Sjaella consists of: Marie Charlotte Seidel, Felicitas Erben, Helene Erben, Viola Blache, Marie Fenske, and Franziska Eberhardt.
شاييلا (ألمانيا)
كلمة “شاييلا Sjaella” مستمدة من اللغة السويدية وتعني “الروح”، وهي اسم لفرقة الاكابيلا المكونة من الفتيات فقط من مدينة لايبزج الألمانية
حصلت شاييلا على عدد من الجوائز، وكان آخرها مسابقة تامبرين سافيل للفرق الصوتية (الاكابيلا) في تامبيري، وتم التوقيع مع الفرقة من قبل شركة انتاج، وأكملت بنجاح ورشات عمل مع أكبر المتخصصين في مجال غناء الأكابيلا، وظهرت في العديد من برامج الإذاعة والتلفزيون، وأبدعت المجموعة من خلال مشاركتها في المهرجانات الموسيقية ذات الشهرة العالمية
اطلقت شاييلا اول ألبوم موسيقي لها في 2011 ولقي الألبوم مديحا كبيرا من عدة مجلات وصحف موسيقية ومنها (“داس اوركستر”، روندو، سونو)، وشبكة البث البافارية
وما يميز الفرقة عن غيرها هو وجودهم معا منذ وقت مبكر مما ادى الى وجود تناسق وثقة بين اعضاء الفرقة و لوحظ هذا التوافق في حفلاتهم، فهم يتنفسون ويغنون كشخص واحد

Sinouj

Sinouj is an Afromediterranean project that, through a contemporary jazz approach, bases its music on the diverse traditions of Mediterranean and Oriental music combined with West African music, rock, funk and electronic MUSIC. The group’s sound is marked by its unique combination of Eastern modes, rhythms and sounds (Arab violin, Persian ney) with contemporary jazz harmony and instrumentation.
This open vision towards music allows musicians from very different styles to integrate their music into Sinouj’s: flamenco (Jorge Pardo, El Guadiana) Iranian music (Kaveh Sarvarian) soul music (Alana Sinkëy) or contemporary jazz (Ariel Bringuez) musicians participate in Sinouj’s music.
Sinouj’s richness and originality is based on the diversity of backgrounds (Spain, Tuni­sia, Nigeria-Italy), both geographical and musical, of the group members: PABLO HERNÁNDEZ, alto sax – Spain, Leader and main composer. LARBI SASSI, violin – Tunisia, considered one of the best specialists in oriental music from the Maghreb. AKIN ONASANYA, Drums / Rhythm instruments – Nigeria, one of the most popular drummers in the jazz, funk and soul scene in Madrid. SERGIO SALVI, Keyboard and musical arrangements – Italy, brings a touch of balance and modernity to the group, thanks to his inge­nious use of acoustic and electronic sounds. JAVIER GERAS, bass player – Spain, one of the most popular bass players in Spain.
سينوج (اسبانيا)
سينوج هو مشروع أفرومتوسطي، الذي من خلال نهج الجاز المعاصر، تستند موسيقى سينوج على التقاليد المتنوعة للموسيقى المتوسطية والشرقية جنبا إلى جنب مع الموسيقى الغرب أفريقية، والروك، والفانك والموسيقى الإلكترونية. يتميز صوت الفرقة بمزيجها الفريد من الأنماط والإيقاعات والأصوات الشرقية (الكمان العربي، والناي الفارسي) بالتناغم مع موسيقى الجاز المعاصر
هذه الرؤية المنفتحة نحو الموسيقى تسمح للموسيقيين من أنماط مختلفة جدا دمج موسيقاهم ومشاركتهم مع سينوج، ومن اشهر الموسيقيين الذين شاركوا عزفا مع الفرقة هم: فلامينكو (Jorge Pardo, El Guadiana)، موسيقى إيرانية (Kaveh Sarvarian)، موسيقى السول (Alana Sinkëy)، وموسيقى الجاز المعاصرة (Ariel Bringuez)
ويستند ثراء وأصالة موسيقى “سينوج” على تنوع خلفيات وثقافات أعضاء الفرقة (اسبانيا، تونس، نيجيريا، ايطاليا): بابلو هيرنانديز، التو ساكسوفون (اسبانيا)، وهو قائد الفرقة والمؤلف الرئيسي. العربي ساسي، كمان (تونس)، ويعتبر واحد من أفضل المتخصصين في الموسيقى الشرقية من المغرب العربي. أكين أوناسانيا، درامز/وآلات ايقاعية (نيجيريا) واحد من قارعي الطبول الأكثر شعبية في الجاز، الفانك والسول في مدريد. سيرجيو سالفي، كيبورد وتوزيع موسيقي (ايطاليا)، يجلب لمسة من التوازن والحداثة للمجموعة، وذلك بفضل استخدامه البارع للمؤثرات الصوتية والإلكترونية. خافير جيراس، باص جيتار (اسبانيا) أحد اكثر الموسيقيين المتخصصين بالعزف على آلة الباص شعبية في إسبانيا
