What Can we Learn from a Building; The case study of GJU in evaluating the performance of Architecture.
Nowadays all buildings are facing a major issue with the users’ satisfaction in terms of Thermal, Visual comfort and Acoustical performance, especially buildings that completely rely on sophisticated controls. There is a major dissatisfaction of Overheating in the cold period and very cold indoor environments in the hot period, in addition to uncontrolled sun access which is becoming a common issue in buildings worldwide.
This presentation will draw attention to the building’s interaction with its surroundings and its users. The German Jordanian University in Madaba was taken as a case study to analyze, evaluate and better understand the performance of an educational building through quantitative and qualitative studies.
